Unlike the movie with its cinematic rain-soaked visuals, my spoken word features off-the-beaten-track Ottawa scenery and it focuses on <strong>why I offer Career Coaching and Human Resources (HR) consulting using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verywellmind.com\/what-is-industrial-organizational-psychology-2795302\">Industrial \/ Organizational (I\/O) psychology<\/a> as a foundation<\/strong>. Although I\/O psychology as a discipline has been around <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20171231053535\/http:\/\/www.siop.org:80\/Museum\/\">since 1892<\/a>\u00a0and has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.humanresourcesmba.net\/30-most-influential-industrial-and-organizational-psychologists-alive-today\/\">widespread influence<\/a> that is felt in Fortune 500 companies, the White House, The Wall Street Journal and Fortune, etc. it\u2019s not really part of the mainstream. I know many people who are educated and have relevant work experience but they are struggling financially. These structural economic changes and other factors will be playing out for years to come and the solutions that are required are not obvious. It\u2019s also clear to me that the days of finding and keeping one job for the long haul, or rising through the ranks within the same organization for an entire career is unlikely. I have many clients who have been in the same position or with the <a href=\"https:\/\/ioadvisory.com\/blog\/life-in-the-time-of-ageism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">same organization for a long time<\/a>. When they need to move on to a new organization they often struggle since they are out of practice. I also have clients who are <a href=\"https:\/\/ioadvisory.com\/blog\/degree-or-no-degree-that-is-the-question\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recent graduates<\/a> who have done all the right things. These recent graduates have earned their diploma or degree and they have tried to obtain relevant work experience but they often remain underemployed and dissatisfied with their career prospects. Again, I love to help people to make the most of their skills and interests in a way that is financially sustainable.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I believe that high-quality career advice and service should be accessible to those who value it. Although it\u2019s easy to find people with my background working as advisors within Fortune 500 companies, big-name consulting firms, universities, and government organizations, there are a lot of people who don\u2019t work in those environments but would benefit from my HR or coaching services. Sometimes the setback is due to a relocation, other times it could be due to corporate restructuring\/layoffs, or due to something more personal like <a href=\"https:\/\/ioadvisory.com\/blog\/back-after-dealing-with-a-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">illness<\/a> or a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/report-on-business\/careers\/career-advice\/life-at-work\/can-getting-a-divorce-help-your-career\/article27160067\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">separation<\/a>\/<a href=\"https:\/\/ioadvisory.com\/blog\/divorce-career-progression\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">divorce<\/a>.
