News and Notes: In February, I spoke to a group of civilians and military members at the Department of National Defense (DND) about Using HR and Psychology to Prevent Insider Threats. With the end of the fiscal year approaching in many organizations, I have been helping employers and employees set meaningful and proactive goals as part of their performance management planning. In addition, employees who have workplace budgets for professional development have been using those funds to receive Career Coaching from I/O Advisory Services. For the past few years, I have been an active member of a Human Rights organization called Zonta International. Recently, I transferred my membership to the new Zonta eClub of Canada and I’m now the Vice President. Zontians in the Ottawa area have been working closely with a group of young men, called ManUp, who are determined to be effective bystanders who can help end violence against women. This work has been done in collaboration with the Ottawa Coalition to End Violence Against Women (OCTEVAW) and the Ottawa RedBlacks.
